Bath has three camera shops, which is pretty respectable for a city of Bath’s size. Here’s a little information about each.
London Camera Exchange
The London Camera Exchange has 28 branches, only one of which is actually in London. They sell new and secondhand equipment and can arrange repairs. I made use of their services myself recently after dropping a 16-35mm lens (ouch!). Friendly service and right next to Bath Abbey, so the location couldn’t be better. Last time I went in there were selling refurbished 1990s polaroid cameras and I was quite tempted to buy one.
Ace Optics is the place to go in Bath if you are in the market for a Leica (!) as they are a Leica and Swarowski dealer. (Swarowski make top-end binoculars as well as crystal sculpture and shiny accessories). Ace Optics also have a nice selection of analogue classics in the window. I always find it hard not to stop and have a look.
Jessops in Bath is on Southgate opposite McDonalds. The Jessops chain went bankrupt in 2013 but was rescued by Peter Jones of TV’s Dragon’s Den fame. There were 187 outlets originally, but Bath’s is one of 42 that reopened.Bath Photo Map, along with lots of other useful places for photographers in Bath.
