Instant Photography Bath Tour

A unique Instant Photography Tour of Bath. Take retro shots of classic Bath locations with Polaroid format instant cameras.

About the Instant Photography Bath Tour

This is a 2.5 hour private tour for instant photography afficiandos. You can either use your own instant camera, or we can lend you one to use. The tour includes one standard pack of Impossible Project instant film (8 photos).

This is a great tour for anyone who has come back frustrated from a day’s digital photography with aching hands and hundreds of photos. As the number of photos you can take with an Instant Camera is extremely limited (!) it will encourage you to focus on each and every shot. Get into the Zen of instant photography.

Having said that, you are welcome to bring other cameras or smartphones on the tour. You may wish to take some photos in between instant pictures, or you can use a digital camera to check the exposure and framing. (Note that Polaroid film uses the same square format as Instagram).

The exact route is up to you or your group, but we often walk from Bath Abbey up to the Royal Crescent, taking in some well-known (and lesser known) Bath sites on the way. The best photo opportunities vary by season, time of day, light, and weather. So each tour is different!

On your tour you’ll also learn about the fascinating history behind Bath’s architectural masterpieces. And we will also visit some photogenic locations only the locals know. There will be tips on how to compose your photos, find unusual angles, and create a great retro instant camera look. We can also help with scanning photos and sharing them online.

Cameras and film for the tour are supplied by locally-based Super Atomic: Instant Polaroid Cameras & Impossible Project Film webshop. A 20% discount on camera purchases from the shop is available for anyone booking an Instant Photography Bath Tour (please contact us for details).

Please see our TripAdvisor page for photos and reviews from people who have been on the tour.
